reader response, day 6

World War Z by Matt Brooks, Day 6 pages 114-148.
        Today I read about a young girl named Jessica and her family who moved far north to escape the zombie hoard. Many people moved north and congregated into large communities believing the winter would freeze the zombies and the expansion of the water would destroy their cells. In actuality this did not work at all but on top of that they very quickly ran out of supplies and died off due to improper protection against the cold. What started off as a nice happy community very shortly turned into a suspicious place where neighbor turned on neighbor in a bid to survive. As Jessika's family ran out of food and they began to starve, her parents started to fight. Things went from bad to worse when the first real blizzard hit. People where dropping like flies but Jessika and her family had found a new food source, their neighbors.

          If this story was not set in the north, the story would be much different. For one the food would not have run out so quickly, as other areas have more plants and animals for food.
also the temperature would not have been so extreme and thus they would have had to fight zombies sooner, killing off the weak and forming bonds that would not allow cannibalism. this means that the stronger people would have survived fairly well rather than weakening themselves with the lack of food, extreme temperatures and infighting.
