World War Z by Max Brooks, 6/24/14, pages 1-25
From what I have read thus far the book World War Z is a collection of memories taken from survivors of the fictional zombie apocalypse by word of mouth. The first stories are about different people groups first encounters with zombies and the infected, such as a group of drug trafficking soldiers who find the aftermath of a battle between their drug suppliers and zombies. After one soldier pulls a stuck zombie, unaware of it’s nature, from the rubble and is nearly bitten before he shoots it in the head.
I’m reading World War Z because I could not find anything else that caught my interest more and because I love a good horror story. I have always loved to read and write horror because I feel that the genre is something that appeals to the creepiness that life can bring that fascinates us all and that deep inside we all want to be scared. I believe this due to the continuing popularity of the horror genre.
